2020 candidates blast Barr’s Mueller report briefing as ‘spin’
Just before the release of the Mueller report, hopefuls among the crowded 2020 Democratic presidential field panned Attorney General William Barr’s pre-release press briefing as partisan spin.
Barr said that Special Counsel Robert Mueller concluded that President Trump neither colluded with Russia during the 2016 race nor obstructed the ensuing two-year probe.
But some left-of-the-aisle pols wanted Americans to read the report and make up their own minds.
“AG Barr’s press conference was a farce and an embarrassing display of propaganda on behalf of President Trump,” tweeted Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D – NY). “Barr works for the people, not the president. They deserve to know Mueller’s full findings because nobody — especially not the president — is immune from accountability.
